Kate is enjoying her second career after changing to law from public services administration. She developed an interest in the law whilst working in the hospital complaints and legal claims department handling complaints and claims for the Chief Executive of the hospital Trust. This was followed by studying a law degree part time whilst working for Hampshire County Council. She gained as much legal work experience along the way as possible by working on a temporary basis in various firms in south Hampshire. She then studied full time for her Law Society exams, passed these in July 2006, and started working for Daltons two months later as a trainee solicitor. Kate will qualify in 2008.
Kate has a number of hobbies and interests outside work – she is a keen dancer and enjoys modern jive and other styles of dance, and goes to classes and dances every week. She also has a season ticket at Portsmouth Football Club and goes to every home match with her son Pete. She also enjoys listening to a wide range of music, and of course there’s always shopping to be done, particularly when daughter Becky is at home.
